Good morning 2009 and a very happy new year to all my friends and loved ones. Our new year's eve was spent at home with a few friends. We had a lovely time welcoming in the new year. Elaine who is a Scot advised about the tradition of 'first footing'. Yes, we knew that a tall dark handsome man should be the first over the threshold, bringing with him a piece of coal and a piece of silver. What none of us were aware of was that the same gentleman should bring with him some fish! Well that was according to Elaine's account. After much discussion, a phone call to Elaine's Mother and a check on Wikapedia Elaine was persuaded that she was in fact wrong, but where did she get that information from and will she ever live it down!
I have had a very lazy day today, finished reading Dawn French's book which I received for Christmas and I have watched two films.
Tomorrow I'm planning a trip to Gunwarfe with a Friend, a mooch around the shops, plenty of stops for chat and hot chocolate. Looking forward to doing it again with you really soon Jan.

Haha, that's what I was thinking too as I was reading :)
Happy New Year Karen !
I quite like your friend's idea about the fish, so long as I can eat it. I think it should be encouraged.
